HTC goes after the Moto G with mid-range Desire 626

Desire 626

HTC has launched its latest offering aimed at budget buyers, the Desire 626. Now available for purchase in Taiwan, the Desire 626 offers a 64-bit CPU, 5-inch 720p display and LTE connectivity for NT$5990 ($190).
Specs include a Snapdragon 410 SoC with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 13 MP camera at the back with a BSI sensor, 5 MP front shooter that can shoot full-HD videos, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE (bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 28) as well as a 2,000 mAh battery. There's no mention of the Android version the device is running, but if we had to guess, we'd go with Android 4.4.4 KitKat running on Sense 6.
Available in blue and white color variations, the device is on sale right now at HTC Taiwan's official e-store.HTC is looking to attain a 25 percent market share in the budget (<$200) segment this year, and devices like the Desire 626 will lead the way towards achieving that goal.
There is no word on when the Desire 626 will be making its way to global markets, but considering HTC's push into countries like China and India, it is likely we'll see the device in either country sometime next month.
